Ica Stones: The Alien Library Claim and Its Unresolved Provenance
The Ica stones are promoted as an engraved library left by an advanced extraterrestrial civilization. The museum’s own explanation makes that claim explicit, while original investigations and expert reporting identify weak provenance and signs of recent manufacture. Accounts of confessions and retractions cite different dates and events; the 1975 interview and 1977 BBCmaterial have not been independently recovered. Those gaps must remain visible, not converted into a precise invented chronology or proof of an ancient alien archive.
