Adherents argue whole-Earth images are composites, CGI, or fisheye and that long-distance shore/skyline photos prove a plane—citing Apollo 17 AS17-148-22727 Blue Marble (7 Dec 1972), later NASA Blue Marble mosaics openly labeled composites, and Joshua Nowicki’s Chicago-from-Michigan skyline photos (~2015–2017).

After Samuel Shenton’s death, Charles K. Johnson ran IFERS of America and Covenant People’s Church from Lancaster, California, issuing Flat Earth News, claiming peak membership near 3,500, and giving NASA/Hollywood moonshot-fraud form to American flat-Earth culture until his death on 19 Mar 2001.
