BAASS (Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies) was the Las Vegas contractor the Defense Intelligence Agency hired in September 2008, under contract HHM402-08-C-0072 worth $10 million, to study advanced aerospace weapon system applications out to 2050. Four files in the Pentagon's October 2026 UAP release (D166, D167, D168 and D169) show the company treating the job as a study of UFOs: subcontract papers from the Mutual UFO Network on lift, propulsion and suspected implants; Project Capella, a design for a worldwide UFO database; a December 2008 management plan that sought Blue Book files, crash testimony and biological samples; and a March 2009 report on a 234,364-case data warehouse. Believers read them as proof that a Pentagon program accepted the craft as real.
