UFOs, aliens, cryptids, and supernatural phenomena
In the high desert of northwestern New Mexico, Chaco Culture National Historical Park protects great houses, kivas, and a landscape cut by formal prehistoric roads. From about 850 to 1250 CE, Ancestral Pueblo communities raised monumental masonry complexes in Chaco Canyon and tied them to more than a hundred regional great houses.
On the night of 11 November 1979 TAE flight JK-297 diverted to an emergency landing at Manises (Valencia) after red lights appeared to pace the Super Caravelle; a Mirage F-1 scrambled from Los Llanos, the file was later declassified (Aug 1994), and Socialist deputy Enrique Múgica carried the case into the Cortes in 1980.
NTSB AAR-00/03 finds TWA Flight 800’s probable cause was a center wing fuel tank explosion, most likely from FQIS-related short circuit among evaluated ignition sources. FBI criminal investigation closed without a charged bomb/missile attack; CIA analysis reframed key rising-streak eyewitness reports as post-explosion aircraft motion. Contested/L2 keeps the missile hypothesis labeled contested beside the NTSB spine.
In 1979 J. J. Benítez packaged Spanish witness storms into Tempestad en Bonanza and related Televisión Española Operación OVNI collaboration—capturing his hinge from newspaper investigator to mass-media ufologist on the eve of the Manises book and the Caballo era.
From about 1966, Spanish recipients received elaborate letters purporting to come from UMMO (a planet tied to Wolf 424 folklore); J. J. Benítez later devoted book-length attention including El hombre que susurraba a los «ummitas» (2007), while critical literature identifies José Luis Jordán Peña as principal hoaxer—making Ummo Spain's premier contactee mail culture as documentary social history.
Bought by Wilfrid Voynich in 1912, the illustrated cipher manuscript resists decipherment; carbon dating places parchment in the early 1400s while claims range from herbal code to hoax.
On 20 October 1976 Spanish Air Force chief of staff Lt. Gen. Felipe Galarza handed journalist J. J. Benítez twelve UFO dossiers at Air Headquarters in Madrid; Benítez serialized them in La Gaceta del Norte and published Ovnis: Documentos oficiales del gobierno español (1977).
Two Canary Islands mass-sky events—22 June 1976 and 5 March 1979—entered Spanish Air Force expedientes and popular ET lore; J. J. Benítez defended the 1979 night as multi-witness UFO activity while later reporting and declassified materials often favour missile or launch-plume readings.
In late Francoism Spanish UFO coverage fell under reserved/classified handling—commonly dated December 1969 in secondary ufology summaries—creating the secrecy climate that J. J. Benítez later attacked in Materia reservada (1993) and Franco: censura ovni (1999), and that the 1976 Galarza leak and 1990s declassification appear to breach in stages.
Between roughly 1992 and 1999 Spain's Ministry of Defence and Air Force declassified about eighty UFO dossiers (~1,900 pages, cases 1962–1995) now in the Biblioteca Virtual de Defensa; J. J. Benítez denounced the process as wholesale manipulation aimed at Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos and MOA/MAC officers favoring prosaic closures.
On 24 November 1971 the NORJAK hijacker ("Dan Cooper" / D.B. Cooper) extorted ransom and parachutes from Northwest Orient Flight 305 and exited via aft stairs; he was never found. FBI Famous Cases, Vault files, and the July 2016 Seattle resource redirect document the crime and state that tips never met beyond-a-reasonable-doubt identification. The Archive keeps identity contested/L2.
Spanish ufology split between J. J. Benítez's maximalist ET journalism and the Fundación Anomalía / Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos documentation style that closed celebrity cases with prosaic toolkits—Manises as Escombreras flares and planets, declassification as transparency rather than cover—creating a usable historiography node for The Archive.
From Jerusalén (1984) through Belén (2022), J. J. Benítez's twelve-volume Caballo de Troya saga relates a USAF time-travel operation to first-century Palestine via Maj. Jasón and Project Swivel—marketed with intermittent 'inspired by real facts' claims while also labeled a novel; Archive value is the documented literary-contactee phenomenon and reception, not verified DoD history.
Comet Ping Pong at 5225 Wisconsin Ave NW in Washington, D.C., owned by James Alefantis, became the geographic focus of Pizzagate after Podesta-dump readers tied fundraiser emails to Instagram art posts, basement rumors, and the 4 December 2016 armed visit.
J. J. Benítez's 1983 book El Ovni de Belén applies UFO hermeneutics to the Matthean star and Nativity tradition—later echoed in Caballo de Troya 12: Belén (2022)—a documented Spanish interpretive claim inside Catholic-vs-ufology culture wars, not an astronomical proof that the Magi tracked a spaceship.
In 1980 J. J. Benítez published Los astronautas de Yahvé, reading Yahweh encounters and Old Testament wonders as astronautic theophany—a documented paleocontact thesis that prefigures his later interview line of Jesús as 'gran extraterrestre' and the Caballo de Troya theological science fiction.
Robbie Davidson’s Celebrate Truth staged the first Flat Earth International Conference on 9–10 Nov 2017 near Raleigh–Cary, North Carolina, with later U.S. dates including Dallas 14–15 Nov 2019; speakers such as Mark Sargent, Rob Skiba, Bob Knodel, and Jeran Campanella turned ticketed halls into the post-YouTube movement’s IRL evidence ecosystem.
The Isdal Woman was found burned and unidentified near Bergen in November 1970; police closed the case as suicide without learning her name. NRK-led DNA and isotope work (with Kripos/academic partners) and the BBC World Service Death in Ice Valley collaboration narrowed European origin hypotheses but did not produce an identification. The Archive applies living-unknown care and holds contested/L2.
The 2004 Nimitz "Tic Tac" encounters, AATIP/UAPTF/AARO institutional trail, and ODNI reporting created an official UAP paper path—document the sensors and bureaucracy without importing cartoon aliens.
In TVE's Planeta Encantado, the Mirlo Rojo episode presented alleged secret lunar alien structures via a claimed CIA source; skeptical journalist Luis Alfonso Gámez and others showed the footage was commissioned CGI, while a 2007 honor judgment awarded Benítez damages without forcing article deletions—a media-fabrication case, not lunar-base proof.
The 1948 Somerton Park death, Tamám Shud evidence, and Cleland inquest left identity unsettled. SA Police exhumed remains in May 2021; a July 2022 researcher DNA/genealogy claim named Carl Webb while police stressed coroner determination ahead. ABC 2026: SAPOL coronial investigation still complex and ongoing. Contested/L2 HOLD—identity claims labeled; living-relative dox OUT.
UNESCO-listed Neolithic underground burial complex on Malta (~4000–2500 BCE use phases), cut from limestone in temple-imitation architecture. Archaeoacoustic studies and conservation crises offer documentary hooks beyond occult stargate tours.
On 22 November 1987 unidentified perpetrators hijacked Chicago WGN-TV and WTTW with a Max Headroom-masked figure via studio-to-transmitter microwave overpower. UPI wires and FCC investigation quotes document the dual-station event; no charged defendant appears in the open record. Contested/L2 HOLD—event documented, identity unsolved.
On 7 September 1974 journalist J. J. Benítez attended a 'programmed' UFO sighting on the Chilca sands of Peru while covering IPRI (Instituto Peruano de Relaciones Interplanetarias) for La Gaceta del Norte; the episode fed Ovnis: S.O.S. a la humanidad (1975) and sits at the root of the Sixto Paz Wells Misión RAMA contactee line he helped broadcast to Spain.
