In July 2025, astronomers discovered 3I ATLAS (also known as C/2025 N1). It is only the third confirmed large interstellar object to enter our solar system, following `Oumuamua in 2017 and a comet named Borisov in 2019.

In October 2017, astronomers detected a massive object speeding out of our solar system.
